Natalie's Senior Session- Updated

Here are some samples from our High School senior photo session with Natalie. We have now done both our studio session and her location session. She has a beautiful white horse as you can see in these updated images. We had a blast taking these photos. It was a bit of a challenge to light Natalie on her horse to get the quality I always strive for but I think you will agree that these came out great! Watch for a music video coming out soon showing about 50 of her top images from both shoots.

KNTR 2010 Calendar Roll Out at Dragon*Con

True West Magazine Cover

Speaking of covers, here is the latest issue of True West Magazine. The cover features an action portrait I took of Lee Anderson, aka The Vaquero. Lee wrote a great article you will read inside about the early Mexican cowboy. There is also a two page photo spread inside showing Lee in more action in the high desert on his faithful horse Dusty. See earlier posts below for more information about this project. Here is a look at the finished cover. When Lee's article is available on line, I will link the photo to his article.

KNTR 2010 Calendar Cover Design

I thought it would be a good time to share with you the cover design for the Kids Need to Read Foundation 2010 Calendar that I've been working on for several months. The young lady shown here is Taylor. She is a 14 year old student from the School of Ballet Arizona. The school supplied two beautiful costumes for our photo shoot. Taylor is also featured as our model for December. You will see her en pointe in a formal white tutu while inside a beautiful home in the Biltmore Estates. I hope you like what you see so far.

True West Magazine Cover Shoot

I'm really excited to share with you that my photos of The Vaquero will grace the cover and a two page spread in the next issue of True West Magazine. My friend Lee Anderson is the author of the cover story, 500 years before the cowboy - Who were these master horseman?  Lee is a "Living Historian" here is the valley and an expert of the old west and the cowboy. My photos of Lee have brought me many awards including a Kodak Gallery Award and a Fuji Masterpiece Award. You can see numerous photos of Lee on my website's Home Page, Western Gallery and Fine Art Gallery. These images will be for sale online as Canvas and Fine Art prints for you western collectors.

Above you will see a candid photo of the recent cover photo shoot in North Scottsdale. Bob Bell, Executive Publisher of the magazine, is kneeling next to me as we discuss the images. Bob is the one in the blue jeans and cowboy hat and I am behind him at the camera. Below you will see a short video of The Vaquero on his faithful horse Dusty. Watch how they operate flawlessly as a single unit and how Dusty seems to know what Lee wants to do without any noticable movement on Lee's part. It’s amazing! Watch for the whole story and photos in the next issue of True West Magazine which will hit the news stands soon.

Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show

I wanted to create a post here about the Arabian Horse Show which I attended in Scottsdale several months ago. This has been a very popular video on my YouTube page so I thought I would share it with you here. The video was immediately "picked up" by the Arabian Channel online. There are many horse lovers here in the South West and the Arabian horse is a beautiful animal to watch. Please enjoy this video in the HQ mode for best viewing.
